HZ&PC Heerenveen en Fryslân Open
Synchronized swimming originated within HZ&PC Heerenveen in 1994. Starting with five swimmers, this section of HZ&PC Heerenveen has since grown into a stable department with more than 40 swimmers.
From a sporting perspective, the synchronized swimmers of HZ&PC Heerenveen have participated multiple times in the Synchrobeat and the Dutch Youth Championships, both individually and as a group.
In the 2009/2010 season, a group even reached the Synchrobeat final, and in 2013, a swimmer reached the final at a National Championship with a solo performance.
HZ&PC Heerenveen possesses the most suitable swimming facilities in the North for practicing the sport and organizing major synchronized swimming competitions. HZ&PC Heerenveen has already hosted the Dutch Youth Synchronized Swimming Championships four times.
With the rise of the Masters (officially from age 25, but the so-called pre-masters (20-24 years) are also represented within HZ&PC Heerenveen), a growing need for competitions for these age groups emerged.
In 2019, the first competition for Masters was organized, marking the birth of the Fryslân Open. Over the past few years, we have seen the number of participants grow steadily, and feedback from swimmers, coaches, support staff, judges, and visitors alike shows that they appreciate the Fryslân Open for its warmth, the relaxed atmosphere of the championship, and the camaraderie among the participating clubs. As an organization, we are naturally very proud of this. That is why we are already eagerly looking forward to the 6th edition, which will take place next year (July 4 & 5, 2026)!
What do we stand for?
What do we want to achieve?
- Relaxed atmosphere due to minimal rules
- Camaraderie and sporting camaraderie
- Competition at an international level
The Fryslân Open is a championship of, by, and for the swimmers! Everything revolves around organizing a championship where swimmers can get the most out of themselves, but where camaraderie and fun always come first!
